A 10-year-old girl was killed in a fire that also left an 18-year-old man critically injured early Monday in Washington Heights on the Far South Side.
Chicago police and fire officials responded to a residential fire in the 10400 block of South Green Street just before 3:30 a.m., police said.
The girl was taken to Roseland Hospital where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
An 18-year-old man was also found inside the home and was taken to the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park where he was in critical condition, police said.
A man and woman escaped uninjured.
Chicago fire officials were investigating the fire.
