Warriors Announce Starting Lineup Decision Vs Kings After Steph Curry News

Stephen Curry is playing in the Golden State Warriors‘ game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.

The news of Curry’s availability comes after he was ruled out in the Warriors’ previous game against the Los Angeles Lakers, and after he was officially listed as probable for most of the day.

The NBA superstar is expected to be on a minutes restriction against the Kings, but will play in what is his third game back from a knee injury that kept him out for more than two months.

Before the game, Golden State announced its starting lineup and final injury report for Friday night.

GettySAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – APRIL 01: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors smiles as he warms up before their game against the San Antonio Spurs at Chase Center on April 01, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

In the lead-up to Warriors vs Kings, the Bay Area team confirmed its starting lineup with a post on social media.

Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Draymond Green, and Kristaps Porzingis were all named as starters by head coach Steve Kerr.

This isn’t the same starting lineup Golden State used against the Kings, but with Porzingis now back available, he was named a starter over Nate Williams, who got the nod on Thursday.

Additionally, Curry did not start against the Lakers, and despite a reported minute restriction, he is now in the starting group for Friday night.

According to Kerr, Curry will have his roughly 25-minute restriction increased against the Kings as he continues to work back from his knee injury.

“It’s enticing,” Kerr said about this starting lineup. “Good size. Versatility. Ballhandling. Shooting.”

GettySAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – JANUARY 15: Jimmy Butler III #10 of the Golden State Warriors is guarded by Jordan Clarkson #00 of the New York Knicks at Chase Center on January 15, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

While the Warriors are getting back Curry and Porzingis for the game against the Kings, which was always the expectation, that doesn’t mean Golden State is anywhere near having close to a clean injury report.

Before the game, the team announced the final injury status for a huge chunk of the roster.

Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, LJ Cryer, Seth Curry, and Quinten Post were all ruled out with different injuries.

According to the team, Cryer is expected to miss at least one week with a right ankle sprain.

However, while Curry, Porzingis, Santos, Will Richard, and Charles Bassey weren’t fully cleared for Friday night, each is now listed as available. Al Hoford was also upgraded for the game, but according to Kerr, he will be on a minute restriction against Sacramento, expected to play 15-20 minutes.

Golden State is currently tenth in the West, set for the Play-In Tournament at that seed.

They will play either the Los Angeles Clippers or Portland Trail Blazers in the ‘9-10’ matchup of the Play-In, and with a win, will likely match up against one of those two teams, or the Phoenix Suns, in the final round of the tournament.

After the Warriors’ game against the Kings, the final contest of the regular season comes against the Clippers on Sunday night.
