Pistons Announce Key Decision Vs Hornets After Cade Cunningham News

The Detroit Pistons are playing the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, April 10, in the second-to-last game of the 2025-26 NBA regular season for both teams.

The contest will feature star Cade Cunningham for the Pistons, as he recently recovered from a lung injury that kept him sidelined for a few weeks, and was not listed on the injury report for the game.

Additionally, Detroit will have Kevin Huerter available against the Hornets, as the three-point specialist was probable for much of the day, but later upgraded to available.

Before the game, the Pistons make a few key announcements.

In the lead-up to Detroit’s matchup against Charlotte, the team’s starting lineup was announced and confirmed with a post on social media.

Cade Cunningham, Duncan Robinson, Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris, and Jalen Duren were all named starters by head coach JB Bickerstaff.

This is the typical lineup the Pistons have been running for most of the season. While they had been dealing with injuries over the past few weeks, specifically to Cunningham, he is now back in the lineup and available for Friday.

Recently, Bickerstaff said that he wants the franchise star to get as many runs in as possible before the playoffs while he recovers from the lung injury that kept him out for 11 games in a row.

While it was Huerter on the injury report for much of the day, he has been upgraded to available, despite dealing with an illness.

Besides him, the Pistons are pretty healthy heading into the final two games of the regular season.

As mentioned, Cunningham was highlighting the injury report, but he returned in the team’s last game, dropping 13 points and 11 assists in his first game since mid-March. Additionally, Isaiah Stewart missed a few weeks with a calf strain, but he’s also back in the mix for Detroit.

The Pistons injury report does feature a few two-way players, but as it relates to the full-time rotational players, it’s a clean slate for the Michigan team.

Detroit Pistons Playoffs Scenarios

Detroit clinched the first seed in the East for the first time in 19 years, a spot in the standings they’ve held for much of the season.

But while they’ve held firm on the top spot in the conference, it remains to be seen who they’ll play in the first round.

While the Play-In Tournament has yet to be played out, the Pistons could potentially face either the Hornets, Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic, or the Miami Heat.

Still, right now all that matters is keeping this team healthy for the postseason, and with Cunningham back and sitting in the top spot, things are going well for the Pistons right now.
