Ex-Sixers’ 8-Year Veteran Lands New NBA Team

A former Philadelphia 76ers center has joined the Atlanta Hawks, years after his run with the Sixers.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Hawks are picking up the 28-year-old Tony Bradley.

via Shams Charania, ESPN: The Atlanta Hawks are signing veteran center Tony Bradley to a deal for the remainder of the season, adding frontcourt depth in wake of an injury to Jock Landale, sources tell ESPN. Atlanta has had a hot second half, surging to No. 5 in the Eastern Conference.

Before Bradley landed interest from the Hawks, he was spending time with the Indiana Pacers’ NBA G League team.

The last time Bradley logged minutes in an NBA game was during the 2024-2025 NBA season. Bradley saw the court for 14 games with the Indiana Pacers. He came off the bench for an average of 8.1 minutes. Bradley produced 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds during that short period.

Back in November 2020, the Sixers picked up Bradley after his tenure with the Utah Jazz. At the time, Bradley was a former first-round pick out of North Carolina, who showed plenty of promise.

The Jazz initially traded Bradley to the Detroit Pistons. The Sixers picked up Bradley not long after the original deal. The veteran center was the returning piece in the Zhaire Smith trade.

Bradley’s time in Philadelphia was short, but he was thriving during his 20-game stretch. When Joel Embiid went out for some time, Bradley collected a career-high eight starts. With 14.4 minutes per game, Bradley averaged 5.5 points and 5.2 rebounds. The veteran center drove up his value. The Sixers cashed in at the deadline.

The 76ers traded Bradley to the Oklahoma City Thunder. They acquired the veteran point guard, George Hill.

Bradley finished the season with the Thunder. He posted career-high averages of 8.7 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Since his OKC-Philadelphia season, Bradley spent two years with the Chicago Bulls and the Pacers, with several G League runs sprinkled in. Now, Bradley will spend some time with the Hawks.
