Former Eagles Star’s Ex-Wife Goes IG Official With Another Former Eagles Star

You might say Susie Celek has a type.

The fitness instructor and ex-wife of Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles tight end and current Eagles executive Brent Celek turned heads this week when she went Instagram official with another former Eagles star in longtime defensive tackle Hollis Thomas.

“Life trends show I’m not big on commitment, but I’m stuck on you big man,” Susie Celek captioned the post, which showed a variety of pictures of her with Thomas.

Thomas played in the NFL from 1996 to 2009, including a decade with the Eagles from 1996 to 2005.

Celek played his entire career with the Eagles from 2007 to 2017, winning a Super Bowl in his final NFL season before going into front office work for the franchise.

Reports Say Celeks Divorced for Over Decade

According to several reports, the Celeks have been divorced since sometime around 2015 — right before the end of a lengthy NFL career in which he made approximately $30.7 million.

Both Brent Celek and Susie Celek attended the University of Cincinnati, where the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Cincinnati native played from 2003 to 2006, before he was drafted in the 5th round (No. 162 overall) of the 2007 NFL draft after earning All-Big East honors.

In his 2nd season with the Eagles in 2008, Celek set the franchise single-game record with 131 receiving yards and had the 3rd most receptions by any tight end in NFL postseason history with 19.

Celek became the full-time starter in 2009 after tight end L.J. Smith left for the Baltimore Ravens in free agency. Celek signed a 6-year contract extension with the Eagles in December 2009 and in 2010 was a key part of the Eagles’ comeback win over the Giants in the Miracle at the Meadowlands with a 65-yard touchdown reception.

He retired in August 2018 and finished his career with 398 receptions for 4,998 yards and 31 touchdowns, including another 27 receptions for 257 yards and 3 touchdowns in 9 career postseason appearances.

Hollis Thomas: UDFA to Decade-Plus NFL Career

Thomas, 6-foot and 305 pounds, had a much more difficult path to NFL stardom.

The St. Louis native was a 2-time All-Big West Conference selection at Northern Illinois and made the Eagles roster as a long-shot, undrafted free agent in 1996, and ended up making the NFL All-Rookie Team.

Thomas made approximately $19.57 million in career earnings in 13 NFL seasons with the Eagles, New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams, and Carolina Panthers before ending his pro football career playing 1 season for the UFL’s Omaha NightHawks in 2010.

Thomas was most known as one of the key starters for the Eagles in a 4-year stretch from 1998 to 2001, in which they made 4 consecutive appearances — and 4 consecutive losses — in the NFC Championship Game. He did get to play in 1 Super Bowl — a 24-21 loss to the New England Patriots following the 2004 season.

Thomas, who was inducted into the NIU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006, returned to Philadelphia following the end of his career and embarked on another career in sports radio, working for the famed Philly SportsRadio station 94WIP as well as hosting a podcast for a brief time called “The Green Legion Radio Show” which stopped airing in 2023.
