Stephen Curry Official Return Date Update Announced by Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have been a sinking ship in the absence of superstar point guard Stephen Curry

When healthy, Curry, 38, remains one of the top players and scorers in the NBA. Even at his advanced age, Curry’s offensive gravity continues to be beyond arguably any player that has ever played professional basketball.

That’s exactly why the Warriors could really use him right now.

The team has won just eight games since he went down and out with knee trouble back in late January. Ever since, Curry has encountered multiple setbacks while trying to recover.

Golden State’s medical staff has been wisely patient with Curry. At his age and the current situation of the franchise, rushing him back to the court makes almost zero sense.

Official Stephen Curry Update to Be Released by Warriors

The Dubs may have come out victorious in last night’s home game against the struggling Brooklyn Nets, but it was just the most recent example of what the team looks like without its best player and several other stars.

If it weren’t for the Western Conference teams beneath the Warriors in the standings intentionally losing games, perhaps Golden State’s season would have been long over.

However, the franchise is firmly locked into the final play-in spot. Now the top priority, believe it or not, isn’t even winning games, it is merely staying healthy.

The Warriors are a whopping 10 games ahead of the 11th-seeded New Orleans Pelicans. There are only nine games left in the regular season schedule. They could sleep through those games and still be locked into the play-in.

On a brighter note, the Dubs are hopeful to learn a positive update on Curry’s status tomorrow, according to team insider Dalton Johnson.

Desperation Mounts as Curry Tries to Make Injury Return

Sure, the Warriors are guaranteed a play-in spot, but that doesn’t mean getting Curry back well before then can’t be helpful.

Remember, Curry, although still spectacular, is 38. Even a 25-year-old would need at least a few games to work their way back into game shape after spending two months off.

Not only that, Golden State is hoping both Curry and the newly-acquired Kristaps Porzingis can piece together some chemistry before the play-in tournament. Of course for that to happen, the team needs both guys back healthy and available every night.

Last night’s victory over the Nets secured the Warriors’ 35th win of the season. Even for how ugly that win was and how battered the team is, it’ll still be favored over the poor Washington Wizards tomorrow night.

Golden State must take care of business, not because it matters in the standings, but because the franchise is in dire need of building some confidence.

At this point, reaching 40 regular season wins would be a considerable achievement. Any kind of momentum would go a long way in helping the Warriors play with some spirit in the play-in tournament.
