‘Lost All His Powers’: Alabama WR Roasted Over Pro Day Disaster

It’s been an offseason of significant change for University of Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams.

First, the 19-year-old got engaged to his 25-year-old girlfriend, Alexis Ellis, on Valentine’s Day.

Then, Coleman-Williams changed his jersey number to No. 1 after wearing No. 2 for his 1st 2 seasons.

Then, he changed his last name from Williams to Coleman-Williams.

Now, Coleman-Williams is going through another change, and it’s the most dramatic 1 yet. People who thought he was good now think he’s trash.

That feeling started during a lackluster sophomore season and continued through Alabama’s Pro Day on Wednesday, when Coleman-Williams struggled catching passes from Alabama quarterback and potential 1st round pick Ty Simpson.

“Yikes: Ryan Coleman-Williams DROPS a perfect deep ball from Ty Simpson at Alabama’s Pro Day,” NFL influencer Dov Kleiman wrote on their official X account. “Williams’ falloff needs to be studied … ”

“Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams dropped a deep ball and RUINED Ty Simpson’s perfect Pro Day,” College Transfer Portal wrote on its official X account.

Coleman-Williams: From Elite to ‘What Happened?’

Coleman-Williams is one of the highest-paid wide receivers in college football, with an estimated NIL value between $2 million and $3 million for the 2026 season. He was paid an estimated $2 million in 2025 as the Crimson Tide returned to the College Football Playoff

Coleman-Williams played his 1st season of college football at 17 years old after graduating high school 1 year early. He was one of the nation’s best wide receivers in 2024 with 48 receptions for 865 yards and 10 total touchdowns in 13 games as he was named All-SEC and All-American.

In 2025, Coleman-Williams had 49 receptions for 689 yards and 4 touchdowns in 14 games. He also led the nation with 13 dropped passes.

“Alabama sophomore WR Ryan Williams has the MOST drops in the FBS this season with 13 and has 17 drops over the last two years, ranking him among the worst in the nation in drop rate,” Football Forever wrote on its official Instagram account on December 20. “Seven of Williams’ 13 drops this season are on passes 10+ yards downfield, eliminating potential touchdowns and explosive plays.”

Fans Roast Coleman-Williams Online After Drops

As might be expected, social media went all in on Coleman-Williams after his Pro Day disaster.

“He might need contacts bc ain’t no way his hands still mud,” Boppa wrote on their official X account.

“Ryan Williams really lost all his powers the second he turned 18,” Cam wrote on his official X account.

“It’s actually becoming wildly concerning,” Be Got Game wrote on their official X account.

“Dude has the worst hands I’ve ever seen considering the hype,” Jets X Factor’s Joe Blewett wrote on his official X account.

There was 1 person, mercifully, who came to Coleman-Williams’ defense — that was Simpson, who loudly declared “on me” after the dropped pass and took time to praise his former teammate to the assembled media after the workout.

“Y’all see him? You see how big he is? He’s gained so much weight,” Simpson said. “He’s grown up. He’s a big guy in the room now. I’m so happy for him and so proud of him because I know how much he loves Alabama football … Y’all can write it down: Ryan’s gonna have a really big year.”
