MAGA Congresswoman Says Iran “Boots On The Ground” Would Force Split From Trump

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna

Female MAGA congresswomen are speaking out against the potential of the U.S. sending troops — AKA “boots on the ground” — to Iran, including former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who told reporters this week she will vote against the Pentagon’s request for $200 billion for supplemental funding for the war in Iran.

Boebert said: “I am so tired of spending money elsewhere. I’m tired of the industrial war complex getting all our hard-earned tax dollars. I have folks in Colorado who can’t afford to live. We need America First policies right now.” And yet, when asked by a reporter if the U.S. should get out of Iran, Boebert replied, “That’s up to the president.”

On Friday night, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) told Bill Maher that she is also against “boots on the ground” in Iran, but claimed “the president and the White House had never advocated for that.”

[NOTE: Trump told reporters, just as Luna claims, that he wasn’t thinking of sending troops into Iran, but followed that statement up by saying: “If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you.”]

Maher responded, “He said he might do it, a couple of weeks ago. He said it. It came out of his mouth.” He then asked Luna, “So you would split with him if he put boots on the ground?” she replied, “Well, I don’t think he’s going to.” Maher pushed, “But you would?”, Luna replied, “Yes.”

CBS News reported on Friday: “Thousands of Marines are being moved now to the Middle East. Three warships and about 2,200 Marines from an expeditionary unit departed California earlier this week, according to two U.S. officials. It was the second such Marine unit sent since the war began.”

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), asked about troops on the ground in Iran, asked people to trust Trump’s decision-making and his respect for the military. “Believe me,” Ernst told Fox Business, “President Donald J Trump has the best interests of the United States at heart, but he also loves our men and women in uniform. He will not engage them unnecessarily.”
