Eagles Prediction Would Land Explosive A.J. Brown Replacement

As the 2026 NFL offseason continues to move forward, the questions swirling around the Philadelphia Eagles about star wide receiver A.J. Brown persist.

Brown came into the offseason expected to be traded. So far, the Eagles have not found a deal worth pulling the trigger on. That could still change, but the offers will need to improve or Philadelphia will need to lower its asking price.

With that being said, trading Brown is one thing. Finding a way to replace him is another.

On Tuesday, the Eagles took one step in that direction with the free agency signing of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. However, that move alone would not replace Brown.

A new prediction has been made that would see Philadelphia land a dynamic weapon for Jalen Hurts to help replace Brown.

Philadelphia Eagles Connected to New Potential Wide Receiver Target

NBC Sports Boston analyst Phil Perry released a new mock draft on March 17. When it came to the Eagles, he had them selecting Washington wide receiveer Denzel Boston with the No. 23 overall pick in the first round.

“Not running the 40-yard dash at either the combine or the Washington pro day was, as the kids say, a choice,” Perry wrote. “But Boston’s tape is first-round caliber. If the Eagles feel they may lose A.J. Brown in the near future, Boston is a suitable replacement as their ‘X.’”

No rookie is a sure thing. Philadelphia would be taking a risk by trying to replace Brown with Hollywood Brown and a first-round rookie.

That being said, Boston looks like the real deal. His college track record speaks for itself.

What Would Denzel Boston Bring to the Eagles’ Offense?

After not playing much during his first two seasons with the Huskies, Boston broke out in his junior and senior seasons.

In 2024 as a junior, he racked up 63 receptions for 834 yards and nine touchdowns. That was backed up with a 62-catch, 881-yard, and 11-touchdown performance in 2025.

Standing in at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Boston has great size for an NFL wideout. He has also received an electrifying comparison from NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein.

When it came to projecting out which current NFL player Boston compares to, the answer given was Los Angeles Rams superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua.

That isn’t to say that Boston is guaranteed to become that kind of an impact player. However, it shows the insanely high upside he possesses. The Eagles would be adding a player who many think could blossom into a superstar at the professional level.

Expect to continue hearing rumors and speculation surrounding Philadelphia and Brown. No one knows what will happen, but Boston would be an excellent target if the Eagles decide that they are indeed ready to move on from Brown.
