Nebraska Football Lands in Final Six For Coveted TE Prospect

Nebraska football made the top six for 2027 tight end Ahmad Hudson on Monday evening. On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported this.

Hudson is the top tight end prospect in the 2027 class. He is coming off a 2025 sophomore season that saw him record 61 catches for 969 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was named the most outstanding player for the championship game, as he recorded six catches for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Now, he is coming back to Lincoln, a place he knows well. He listed the Huskers in his top six along with LSU, Texas A&M, Miami, USC, and Missouri.

Nebraska football has been in the mix for quite a while. Took his first visit to campus in March 2025. The tight end then returned for the Battle of the Boneyard tournament in June, where he was able to connect with Huskers quarterback commit Trae Taylor. The playmaker was then able to find time to come back to the campus for the November 1 game against the USC Trojans.

Hudson’s next visit to Nebraska is set for March 28.

Nebraska Football Has Strong 2027 Class

It would be a strong addition to the 2027 recruiting class. The 2027 class has a ton of talent. The class is anchored by Taylor, but he is not the only playmaker the Huskers have. They also have Omaha Central safety Tori Pittman, running back Amir Brown, wide receiver and Antayvious Ellis, defensive lineman Jadyen Travers, and offensive lineman Matt Erickson.

The Huskers certainly addressed the offensive side of football here. Ellis and Erickson both are talented in their own right. Ellis has a tremendous amount of speed. Erickson provides the strength.

When you take a look at the defensive side of football, Travers is a player who pops out as well. He measures in at six-foot-four, 260 pounds, and will be able to help stabilize the defensive line. Huskers have been working hard to stabilize the defensive line in particular, after poor play doomed the position last year.

Nebraska Football Will Have Challengers For Hudson

LSU is going to be the team to beat for Hudson. The Tigers got a huge boost to their program following the hiring of Lane Kiffin. It is very hard to grab a  Louisiana prospect from the state. Even still, Nebraska has been able to make headway with Hudson’s recruitment. The fact that he wants to play basketball at the school he commits to make this an intriguing recruitment for men’s coach Fred Hoiberg as well.

This list certainly provides some intrigue. Huskers feel like they’re in a good spot here. However, Kiffin and LSU are going to be tough to beat on the recruiting trail. Nevertheless, the program has done a good job of getting him to Lincoln and getting them on campus. That’s half the battle when it comes to recruiting. Now it’s going to be about staying consistent in their recruiting approach. The Huskers have clearly made the 2027 class a point of emphasis. They are stacking the decks with talent and making sure to have elite playmakers at all positions.
