An 11-year-old boy with a head injury was found alone on a street Friday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
Police were called for a well-being check at 7:30 p.m. in the 200 block of South Kostner where they found him, according to a statement from Chicago police. The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
He was placed in protective police custody as detectives investigated.
