Colorado road conditions: Westbound I-70, roads into Wyoming close as snow storm intensifies

The Front Range’s first snowstorm after weeks of dry weather closed several roads Friday morning, including Interstate 25 near the Wyoming border.

Colorado road closures as of 7 a.m. Friday

  • Westbound lanes of Interstate 70 between Exit 253 and Exit 254 due to a crash
  • Northbound I-25 at the Wyoming state line due to a crash near Cheyenne
  • U.S. 287 at Ted’s Place in Larimer County

Snow is expected to impact travel on Interstate 70, U.S. 40 and other roads in the central and northern mountains, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. Up to 14 inches could fall at the Eisenhower Tunnel and up to 13 inches at Vail Pass.
