Michael Irvin Predicts 2026 College Football Champion Early

The 2026 college football season is still months away, but fans are ready to have football back on their TV’s already. For Michael Irvin and the Miami Hurricanes, it has been a long offseason already after coming up short in the National Championship game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

Miami and Indiana put on a show during the championship game. While the Hurricanes gave the Hoosiers everything they could handle, they came up just short by a final score of 27-21.

It’s never too early to begin looking ahead to next season. With that in mind, Irvin has spoken out and revealed who he thinks will win the 2026 college football National Championship.

Michael Irvin Reveals Bold 2026 National Championship Prediction

No prediction from Irvin would sound right unless it was made for Miami. Of course, the Hurricanes legend is picking his alma mater to win it all next season.

During a quote to TMZ, Irvin made his prediction that Miami will take home the hardware next year.

“We’re going undefeated next year,” Irvin said. “So get ready, you’re going to see a lot of belt to [expletive].”

If the Hurricanes are going to make that prediction come true, they’re going to need to do so without a few of their top players from the 2025 season. Miami is losing a lot of talent to the 2026 NFL Draft after making its run to the championship.

Who Will the Miami Hurricanes Be Losing to the 2026 NFL Draft?

Rueben Bain Jr. is the big name at the top of the NFL Draft from the Hurricanes. He is widely expected to be a top-five pick. Losing him will be a tough blow for Miami.

Another key player leaving the Hurricanes is quarterback Carson Beck. He played his final year of college football with Miami after being a standout player for the Georgia Bulldogs. Beck put together an impressive run during the College Football Playoff.

Other players that the program will be losing to the NFL include offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, pass rusher Akheem Mesidor, cornerback Keionte Scott, wide receiver C.J. Daniels, offensive tackle Markel Bell, safety Jakobe Thomas, offensive lineman Anez Cooper, offensive lineman James Brockermeyer, and a few others as well.

Not every single one of those players is a lock to be drafted, but the Hurricanes will have to figure out how to replace them.

While Miami is facing an uphill battle, head coach Mario Cristobal still has a very talented roster. Irvin believes that the Hurricanes will be able to overcome losing so much talent to win it all in 2026.
