<p id=”par-1_20″>Two Olympic <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sports/?swcfpc=1″>ice dancers</a> who have competed against each other on the world stage are now engaged to be married.</p>
<p id=”par-2_37″>British-Spanish ice dancer Olivia Smart and former Team USA figure skater Jean-Luc Baker went up against each other during the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Four years later, they got engaged while in Italy for the Milan-Cortina <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/Olympics/?swcfpc=1″>Olympics</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-3_46″>Baker did not compete this year due to an injury, so he cheered on Smart and her ice dancing partner, Tim Dieck, from the stands. The figure skating pair finished in 9th place but thanks to Baker’s proposal, Smart still went home with something gold. </p>
<p id=”par-4_28″>Neil Dutta, Managing Director of the U.K. jewelry retailer <a href=”https://www.angelicdiamonds.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Angelic Diamonds</a>, shared several details about the ice dancer’s show-stopping engagement ring that came with a steep price tag. </p>

Based on proportion, I’d estimate that the diamond is around the two-to-three-carat range. The band is intentionally minimal, which draws full attention to the center stone. </p>
<p id=”par-6_45″>“When a setting is this clean, it is usually because the diamond itself is strong in cut and clarity. For a natural diamond of that size and quality, I would expect the value of the ring to be between $60,000 and $90,000, depending on certification.”</p>
