WWE Announces Huge Brock Lesnar News Ahead of Elimination Chamber

The WWE has made a huge announcement about Brock Lesnar ahead of Elimination Chamber on February 28 in Chicago. Lesnar’s last appearance was at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, WWE revealed that Lesnar will be on the February 23 episode of Monday Night Raw at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

It’s unclear what The Beast is going to do on Raw, but it doesn’t seem to be about Elimination Chamber. There’s a Road to WrestleMania logo on the post, so it could be about his possible match at The Grandest Stage of Them All in Las Vegas this year.

Lesnar last wrestled at the Royal Rumble, entering at No. 22. He only lasted less than six minutes after he was dumped by the combined efforts of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.

But before that, the 10-time world champion eliminated three WWE stars, Oba Femi, Rey Fenix and Ilja Dragunov.

Lesnar’s Potential WrestleMania Opponent

There’s no denying that Brock Lesnar is still a household name in WWE and one of the company’s biggest stars.

But as Roman Reigns said last month, there hasn’t been a new star that could carry the brand into the next generation. Maybe it’s time to make a new one, and one way to do it is for someone to beat Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, WWE has two options in Oba Femi and Gunther. Lesnar eliminated Femi at the Royal Rumble, so there’s already a story to tell.

“This is not 100%, but I presume that Lesnar’s opponent is Oba Femi,” Alvarez said. “That was not said to be 100% even after what they did at the Rumble, but I don’t know what other match you do unless you want to do Lesnar and Gunther. But I think Oba Femi beating Brock Lesnar would be a much bigger deal.”

Alvarez added that if WWE wants to do Gunther vs. Lesnar, they could do it at SummerSlam in Minneapolis. With Gunther’s current character being The Career Killer and rumors of Lesnar’s possible retirement, it seems like a perfect fit.

“If Lesnar is going to retire in 2026, which is rumored, a lot of retirements coming up, I would have Oba Femi beat him at Mania, and Gunther beat him in his last match at SummerSlam,” Alvarez said.

Oba Femi Open To Facing Lesnar

In an appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Oba Femi discussed having a moment with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. Femi also hinted that a showdown against The Beast is a possibility for WrestleMania 42.

“In that moment, you have that mental agreement like, ‘Yes, we know we have something, so let’s not give away too much right now,’” Oba Femi said. “I’m glad the IWC desires actually translate to the live crowd and what the casual fans want to see. And that’s an amazing realization. So we have something there. It’s a big money fight.”

Just like Lesnar, Oba Femi doesn’t have a brand yet and is currently listed as a free agent. He destroyed the War Raiders last week on Raw and beat Kit Wilson last Friday on SmackDown.
