A woman was found dead inside a burning home in Washington Heights on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters found the 88-year-old woman inside a home that had caught fire in the 9400 block of South Lowe Avenue about 4:30 p.m., Chicago police said.
The woman was found unresponsive in the living room with burns to her body, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Police are conducting a death investigation.
