California state offices are closed on Monday, March 31, for César Chávez Day.

In the Bay Area, offices are closed for the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Solano, Napa and Sonoma.

School closures in the Bay Area vary by district.

On the federal calendar, the holiday is considered “commemorative,” so federal agencies including the Postal Service remain open. Banks are also open.
