Rockies 4, Angels 3
Friday at Salt River Fields
On the mound: Right-hander Antonio Senzatela owns a 1.21 ERA — the lowest in Rockies spring training history (minimum 20 innings pitched) — after limiting the Angels to two runs on five hits and a walk. Senzatela struck out six. He gave up a home run for the first time this spring. Lefty Jorge De La Rosa’s 1.50 ERA in 2010 was Colorado’s previous best spring ERA. Senzatela has struck out 19 and walked four. … Veteran lefty Scott Alexander pitched a scoreless inning, striking out the side. … Closer candidate Seth Halvorsen pitched a scoreless ninth and struck out two.
At the plate: Sean Bouchard, continuing to stake his claim for a roster spot, and possibly a starting job in right field, hit 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. He’s batting .364. … Shortstop Ezequiel Tovar is hitting .327 after a 2-for-3 day. … Kris Bryant went 1 for 2 and is hitting .148. … After a tough spring start, left fielder Nolan Jones has hit much better. His 1-for-3 performance included two RBIs and lifted his average to .234.
