A man was killed in a crash Monday evening in suburban Mount Prospect.
Victor Gallardo Lebron, 83, was traveling in a Chrysler SUV when he was hit by a 21-year-old man driving a Mercedes-Benz about 6:35 p.m., Mount Prospect police said.
Gallardo Lebron, who was driving east on Thayer Street, attempted to make a left turn onto Wolf Road when the other driver driving south on Wolf Road struck the driver’s side of the SUV, police said.
Firefighters extricated Gallardo Lebron from the SUV, and he was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The 21-year-old driver was not injured, police said.
