Riverdale woman arrested and charged in a Back of the Yards shootout that wounded 5

A Riverdale woman is facing attempted murder charges after a shootout at a Back of the Yards liquor store Friday left five people wounded, Chicago police said.

Angeles Flores, 21, is facing three counts of attempted murder and a count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, police said. She was arrested at a hospital where she was being treated for gunshot wounds suffered during the shootout.

Two groups were fighting about 10:20 p.m. Friday inside the store in the 1900 block of West 51st Street when Flores allegedly pulled out a gun and fired shots, police said. A man in her group grabbed the gun from her and fired more shots, while a man in the other group returned fire.

Flores was shot in her heel and thigh, and she took herself to Rush Hospital where she was listed in good condition and taken into custody, police said. Two men who fired shots fled the scene.

A man, 22, was shot in the chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital; another man, 48, was shot in the abdomen and transported to University of Chicago Medical Center. Both men were listed in critical condition, police said.

A 45-year-old man was taken in good condition to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said.

A 61-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the elbow and declined medical attention, according to police.
