Man dies after being struck by CTA train on tracks on the Near West Side

A man died after he fell on the tracks and was hit by a CTA train Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The man, 40, was walking on the train platform at the Western Blue Line station about 9:06 p.m. when he fell onto the tracks and was hit by a CTA train, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he later died.

The incident is under investigation.
