1 killed in Saturday night shooting near University of Denver

One person was shot and killed late Saturday night in Denver’s University neighborhood, according to the police department.

Denver officers responded Saturday night to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of South Vine Street, near where it intersects with Cornell Avenue, according to an 11:39 p.m. statement on social media from the police department.

The area is less than a mile south of the University of Denver’s campus.

Police said the victim, who has not been publicly identified, died from their injuries at the scene.
