Robyn Brown, the last remaining wife of Sister Wives star Kody Brown, has been accused of orchestrating the collapse of the Brown family’s plural marriage. However, Robyn has insisted that she never wanted to be Kody’s only wife, just his favorite.

Robyn Brown: ‘Sister Wives’ victim or villain?

Since Christine, Meri, and Janelle Brown left Kody Brown, Robyn Brown is now his sole spouse. It appeared Kody always prioritized Robyn before the other women, leading to resentment and their eventual departures.

In a Sister Wives tell-all episode, Robyn addressed the accusations head-on. She claimed that she never wanted to be Kody’s only wife.

She added that she always wanted to be part of a plural family. However, she couldn’t control Christine, Meri, and Janelle’s decision to leave (although she tried).

Robyn’s close relationship with Kody was seen as contributing to the division within the family. There were moments when the other wives felt as though Robyn was part of Kody’s efforts to distance himself emotionally from them, and their 13 children saw it as well.

On the other hand, Robyn could also be seen as a victim, portrayed as the one who suffered the most because of the family tensions. This sometimes created a narrative where people felt either sympathy for or animosity toward her, depending on how they viewed her situation.

Robyn Brown’s relationship with Kody appeared different from the one he shared with his other wives. She enjoyed more time with him, received more attention, and was often perceived as his emotional priority.

Robyn has repeatedly denied manipulating Kody’s affections to ensure her top spot in their family. However, her former sister wives openly voiced their frustrations against Kody’s behavior.

Christine Brown was the first to walk away, citing years of Kody’s neglect. Janelle soon followed, admitting she no longer recognized their marriage as functional. Meri, Kody’s first wife, held on the longest but ultimately accepted that their relationship had been dead for years.

All three women have since spoken about the deep fractures within their marriages. All three pointed the finger at Kody and Robyn’s close bond as a key part of the reason they ultimately left.

‘Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown Exposed: She Never Really Wanted to Live With Kody’s Other Wives

Sister Wives fans remain very vocal against Robyn Brown. She remains the one wife whom they continue to dislike for how her and Kody Brown’s actions continue to cause problems for Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. They took to <a href=”https://www.reddit.com/r/SisterWives/comments/1j3lz7m/why_is_robyn_so_obsessed_with_being_a_sister_wife/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Reddit to share their POV.

“She absolutely wanted to be the favorite wife, not the only wife. But also this is her “storyline” for the show,” one Sister Wives fan deduced.

“Robyn doesn’t see how hard polygamy is for the other wives. She never lived polygamy and she doesn’t want to believe polygamy doesn’t work, since it works for her. But mostly, money. She wants her and Kody to have all the income from the show possible,” a second penned.

A third claimed, “She didn’t want sister wives as much as she just wanted contributors to the bank account that would just shut up and pay her bills.”

Meri and Janelle Brown remain entangled with Kody and Robyn via their shared Coyote Pass property. The foursome each own the land, but Kody won’t sell it. As the majority stakeholder of the property, he’s holding onto the land, and the women, as collateral damage.

Christine Brown took Kody to court for back child support and determination of paternity for their youngest child, Truely Brown. Their case is ongoing.

Sister Wives is currently on hiatus after a midseason finale. The remaining episodes of Season 19 will return in the Spring.
