<p id=”par-1_50″>It seems that Jay-Z has been working hard in recent months to disassociate himself from longtime friend <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sean-diddy-combs/”>Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs</a>. Jay-Z and Diddy came up in the industry together and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-once-revealed-just-how-close-he-and-jay-z-really-were.html/”>were close for years</a>. However, that all changed when Diddy was arrested in 2024 on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.</p>
<p id=”par-2_45″>Jay-Z was named in a lawsuit that was later dropped, and his attorney says that he and Diddy were never friends. Still, one woman has now come forward to accuse Diddy of assaulting her at a night club owned by Jay-Z nearly 20 years ago.</p>

<p id=”par-3_63″>Although Jay-Z denies ever having a friendship with Diddy, the two were known to hang out through the years. Diddy even talked about Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé, becoming parents at one point, and he said he and Jay-Z <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-said-jay-z-inner-circle-jay-z-denies-friendship.html/”>were in a close inner circle</a>. Jay-Z, however, said otherwise when his lawyer claimed that he and Diddy only ever knew each other professionally.</p>
<p id=”par-4_113″>Still, Diddy might have liked to hang out at the 40/40 Club in Manhattan, which is currently closed but was owned by Jay-Z. Now, a woman has come forward to accuse Diddy of sexually assaulting her at the club. According to <a href=”https://www.vulture.com/article/diddy-lawsuit-allegations-explainer.html”>Vulture</a>, an unnamed woman accused Diddy of drugging her drink at the bar, then following her into the bathroom, where he burst through the door and attacked her as she was in a stall. In the meantime, Diddy’s bodyguard allegedly “remained outside knowing and assisting Combs with what was going on inside the restroom.” The suit was filed on February 28, and it’s one of more than 50 lawsuits against the rapper.</p>

<p id=”par-5_70″>Combs and his attorneys continue to maintain his innocence and say they will fight the allegations. “This is yet another example of false claims being filed against Mr. Combs,” his attorneys stated. “No matter how many lawsuits are filed — especially by individuals who refuse to put their own names behind their claims — it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_57″>Diddy’s federal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering allegations is set to begin in May. Diddy’s team initially filed multiple requests in an <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-expects-serious-downgrade-lifestyle-granted-bail.html/”>attempt to get him released</a> to await his trial at home. However, the requests were denied; Diddy has been sitting in jail since his September arrest and will remain there until his trial date.</p>
