San Jose: Man killed in solo-vehicle crash on Highway 101

SAN JOSE – A man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in San Jose, according to authorities.

The collision was reported around 4:15 p.m. on Highway 101 between Tully Road and Capitol Expressway, California Highway Patrol Officer Ross Lee said in an interview.

Lee said the driver, identified only as a man in his 50s, was traveling northbound when his car veered off the roadway and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.

The three left lanes of the freeway were shutdown for an investigation until about 7:45 p.m. Monday.
