Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in a shooting at an Aurora skating rink parking lot that injured two people, police said Tuesday.
Jayden Martin, 18, of Aurora was arrested Thursday on suspicion of eight counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault, all felonies, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested Feb. 18 on the same charges and two additional weapons charges, all felonies. Police officials did not name the boy because he is a minor.
The shooting occurred at 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the 15100 block of East Girard Avenue, according to the department. The address matches Skate City Aurora.
Officers found a teen girl with a gunshot wound at the scene, and she was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Investigators later learned a teen boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries before police arrived. Both victims have been released from the hospital.
Police found different caliber shell casings at the scene and have recovered two firearms believed to be connected to the shooting, Aurora officials said.
Martin is in custody on a $1 million bail and the 16-year-old is in custody on a $300,000 bail. Martin is set to appear in court Thursday for a filing to charges hearing, according to court records.
