Woman found fatally shot in the arm in Grand Crossing

A 35-year-old woman was found fatally shot Sunday morning in Grand Crossing, Chicago police said.

Officers responded to a call for a well-being check around 6 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Ingleside Avenue and found the woman shot in the arm and unresponsive, according to police.

She was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. A firearm was found at the scene and a “person of interest” is in custody, police said.
