So given their enduring sisterhood, it came as little surprise when Beyoncé and Jay-Z were caught celebrating a special occasion with the <em>Mea Culpa </em>star. But what had everyone talking was what happened after Rowland’s meeting with her bandmate, which mysteriously left her in tears.</p>

<p id=”par-2_60″>Rowland and Beyoncé have had a couple of public reunions over the years that had many Destiny’s Child fans emotional. But the emotions hit Rowland specifically hard during a private, intimate reunion between herself and her childhood friend. Years ago, Rowland and Beyoncé reportedly celebrated the former’s 31<sup>st</sup> birthday alongside Jay-Z and Solange. Afterward, Rowland was spotted crying in public.</p>
<p id=”par-3_92″>Rowland never addressed what caused her emotional reaction, so it left the mystery up to fans’ imagination at the time. However, clues Rowland left behind led to the common theory that Rowland was just overwhelmed by the moment itself. Not too long before her birthday, Destiny’s Child reunited to perform at the 2013 Super Bowl. Some regard their performance as one of the best <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/5-best-super-bowl-halftime-shows-of-all-time.html/”>half-time shows of all time</a>. In an old interview with <em>E! News </em>(via <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2277785/Kelly-Rowland-sobs-having-birthday-lunch-sister-Beyonce-Knowles-Jay-Z.html”>Daily Mail</a>), she revealed how hard it was to keep herself together during that experience.</p>
<p id=”par-4_86″>“When I looked on the other side of the stage at the Super Bowl and I saw Beyoncé and Michelle [Williams], my heart just went into my throat. I was so happy. It was just such a beautiful moment,” Rowland said. “Now everybody’s asking about other things, if we’re gonna do other things.’ We’re like, ‘No, we’re still doing our solo things.’ Michelle’s doing Fela! B’s about to start the Mrs. Carter Tour. We’re just supporting each other. We had a moment for the Super Bowl.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_94″>Since 2013, Destiny’s Child only reunited one other time to bring fans together. Rowland, Beyoncé, and Michelle Williams hit the stage for their famous 2018 performance at Coachella. Since then, they’ve reunited more as friends than musicians, supporting each other at backstage events and movie premiers. Their 2018 comeback might not be the last the world has seen of the group on stage, however. Rowland didn’t rule out the possibility. At the same time, she reminded that the trio were all focused on their solo careers, so reforming Destiny’s Child <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/will-destinys-child-get-back-together-kelly-rowland-says-its-not-on-their-radar.html/”>wasn’t on their radar</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-6_91″>“Bey wrapping up Renaissance and getting ready for her movie, Michelle in the thick of her solo projects that she’s doing, and me in my solo space and all the things that I’m doing, that’s where my head is,” she said in an interview with <em>Messenger</em> (via <a href=”https://www.wbls.com/news/kelly-rowland-denies-a-destinys-child-reunion/”>WBLS</a>). “That’s where my heart is. That’s what I’m most excited about, with all due respect to Destiny’s Child. And should there be a space for that, we’ll see what happens. But as for right now, I’m so excited as to what I’m doing.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_30″>Still, according to Rowland, the years they’ve been apart as artists haven’t affected their long-lasting bond. Speaking with <a href=”https://www.buzzfeed.com/lyapalater/kelly-rowland-on-the-most-iconic-moments-in-her-career”>Buzzfeed</a>, she summed up all the words she felt described Destiny’s Child.</p>
<p id=”par-8_106″>“One word that comes to mind is friendship. Another word that comes to mind is long-lasting loyalty. I think that’s one of the perks of being in a group, that you get friendship. I think when y’all truly, genuinely love each other, y’all got each other’s backs, you want to be there for each other, you do more than just sing together. You make money together, you can make millions of dollars together! You make memories together. You travel the world together. You meet people together. It’s just, really awesome. I think that culture of girl groups is just, it’s tens, it really is, it’s tens,” she said.</p>
