In new Trump administration, these Southern Californians play big roles

From Cabinet-level positions to advisory boards to leadership posts, several people with ties to Southern California are playing outsized roles in the new Trump administration.

They include longtime veterans of President Donald Trump’s inner circle — Peter Navarro, a former UC Irvine professor, is once again serving as a senior advisor for trade and manufacturing — and newcomers, including Los Angeles resident Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services secretary.
