I-70 to close over Vail Pass on Tuesday morning for winter maintenance

Interstate 70 will be closed in both directions over Vail Pass on Tuesday morning so crews can complete winter maintenance, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The highway will be closed starting at 9 a.m. between Vail and Copper Mountain, CDOT officials said in a travel alert. The closure is expected to last at least three hours and up to five hours.

A winter storm that dropped heavy snow and forced multiple highway closures along the mountain corridor is expected to wind down Tuesday.
