Woman, 65, killed in Humboldt Park apartment fire

A 65-year-old woman has died after an apartment fire early Sunday in Humboldt Park on the Northwest Side.

The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. in an apartment building in the 1700 block of North Harding Avenue, according to Chicago police.

A woman was found unresponsive on the first floor with burns on her body, police said, and she was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

There were no other injuries or displacements from the fire.

Both police and the Chicago Fire Department are investigating the cause of the blaze.
