The rapper and producer is the founder of Bad Boy Records, which signed talent like <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-revealed-thought-notorious-b-i-g-killed.html/”>the Notorious B.I.G.</a> and Faith Evans. Diddy was highly-regarded as a major influence on the hip-hop industry in the 1990s and 2000s, and he dated multiple women and welcomed a number of children through the years.</p>
<p id=”par-2_30″>In 2017, Diddy sat down with Wendy Williams, and she asked him a number of hard-hitting questions — including whether he would ever get married. Diddy had an interesting response.</p>

But knowing what we know now about Diddy — and his relationship with now-ex girlfriend Cassie Ventura — his response from that 2017 interview seems bizarre. Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, and the previous year, he was sued by Cassie for years of abuse during their relationship (in early 2024, footage was leaked that showed Diddy physically <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-p-diddy-combs-former-security-thinks-combs-apology-cassie-self-centered.html/”>abusing Cassie in a hotel hallway</a>).</p>
<p id=”par-4_19″>“Do you think you’ll ever get married?” Williams asked Diddy when he sat on her talk-show couch in 2017.</p>
<p id=”par-5_53″>“I think marriage is so serious,” Diddy said. “You’re making a commitment to somebody under God, and unless you’re ready to do everything that says, then you shouldn’t get married.” From what we know now about Diddy’s alleged behavior, it makes sense why he didn’t think he was ready to make that commitment.</p>
<p id=”par-6_34″>Diddy continued, “I have to get myself together — all the way together — before I’m really ready for that because that, to me, is something very, very serious.”<br><br>“You are exhausting me,” William responded.</p>

<p id=”par-7_49″>Williams and Diddy actually had a years-long feud dating back to the 1990s. Williams was as radio host at the time, and she hinted that Combs was involved in her getting fired. But over the years, the two made peace, and he eventually appeared on her show in 2017.</p>
<p id=”par-8_21″>However, in light of Diddy’s arrest, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/wendy-williams-makes-diddy-prison-prediction-not-know-things-know.html/”>Williams shared her true thoughts</a> on the situation during an interview with The Breakfast Club.</p>
<p id=”par-9_38″>“Diddy will go to prison for life, people,” Williams said. “You don’t know the things that I know about Diddy back in the day.” Williams later said, “It’s about time,” referring to Diddy being charged in alleged crimes.</p>
<p id=”par-10_15″>Diddy will remain in jail until his trial, which is set to begin in May.</p>
