Bulls, Blackhawks games being roundly ignored, according to polls

In this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, we wanted to know how many Bulls games and how many Blackhawks games you’ve watched this season.

Yes, these were loaded questions. Not only are the teams losing — a lot — but the situation between Chicago Sports Network and Comcast remains a fiasco.

But just wait until you see the percentages of voters who answered that they’ve watched “very few” — or zero — Bulls and Hawks games. Oof, it’s bleak.

“I’m not paying for Chicago Sports Network,” @71Klaid commented.

“They will lose this war,” @_mockdrafts wrote.

As for not watching at all, @RonaldVoigt4 put it this way: “The funny thing is, I haven’t missed them. Turns out rearranging my sock drawer is more exciting.”

Last, we asked about the Sky getting back into the Courtney Vandersloot business.

“A veteran presence and a proven winner,” @daruma853 called the point guard.

“Whether we win or not,” @iamKeiwi23 wrote, “ ‘Sloot’ brings a veteran, winning presence in a locker room that had none.”

On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: How many Bulls games have you watched this season?

Upshot: When the percentage of people watching most of the games is lower than the points per game being put up by Dalen Terry, you know it’s bad.

Poll No. 2: How many Blackhawks games have you watched this season?

Upshot: If the young hockey lovers aren’t watching the Hawks, they’re watching somebody else. Take it from @GoHawks_1, who wrote, “My grandson’s birthday wish is a jersey — a Sharks jersey. Good job, Hawks!”

Poll No. 3: The Sky are bringing back veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot on a one-year deal. Your thoughts?

Upshot: Vandersloot will be 36 at the start of the season. The WNBA’s No. 2 player in career assists no doubt has slowed a step, but she still knows a thing or two about a thing or two. That can’t hurt.
