The event puts fans in the front row to watch some of the best performers ever to appear in the light-night sketch series. </p>
<p id=”par-3_48″>These performers include Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard, Chris Martin, David Byrne, Eddie Vedder, and Jack White. Also appearing are Jelly Roll, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, DEVO, Mumford & Sons, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The B-52s, and The Roots.</p>

<p id=”par-5_26″>The <em>SNL</em> homecoming concert will stream two days ahead of the show’s titular 50th anniversary special. The series marks its half-century anniversary with a three-hour celebration.</p>
<p id=”par-6_52″>However, there are plenty of ways <em>SNL</em> fans can get their fix of the show ahead of these exciting celebrations. Peacock is home to a four-part docuseries, <em>Beyond Saturday Night</em>, and the documentary <em>Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music</em>, directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson of The Roots and Oz Rodriguez. </p>
<p id=”par-7_27″>The streaming service also carries all 50 seasons of <em>SNL</em>. <p id=”par-9_37″>The <em>Saturday Night Live</em> 40th Anniversary Special aired on February 15, 2015. The special was a 3.5-hour primetime event that featured a variety of sketches, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sinead-oconnor-chased-people-egged-controversial-snl-performance.html/?swcfpc=1″>musical performances</a>, and guest stars showcasing some of the comedy series’ best moments.</p>
<p id=”par-10_23″>Sketches performed during the special were revivals of classic <em>SNL</em> moments, with original cast members reprising their roles. There were also many musical performances.</p>
<p id=”par-11_29″>Paul McCartney, introduced by Keith Richards, performed “Maybe I’m Amazed.” Miley Cyrus was introduced by Candice Bergen and Win Butler and performed “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.” </p>
<p id=”par-12_51″>This was likely a homage to Paul Simon, who was the first celebrity to host and perform music on the show in 1974. When music legend Paul Simon was to host and perform for a second time on Nov. 20, 1976, he recruited <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/5-hilarious-saturday-night-live-sketches-featuring-paul-mccartney.html/?swcfpc=1″>The Beatles guitarist</a> George Harrison to appear alongside him.</p>
<p id=”par-13_32″>Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler created a digital short called “That’s When You Break,” featuring clips of cast members breaking character. The special also included a montage of stars auditioning for Lorne Michaels. </p>
