Motorist dead after rear-ending semi in South Deering

A man is dead after a collision with a semi truck and a car in the South Deering neighborhood early Friday, police said.

The man was driving a sedan in the 1700 block of East 103rd Street when he rear-ended a semi-truck around 12:20 a.m., according to Chicago police. The unidentified man was dead on the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck wasn’t hurt and refused medical care. The drivers were the only occupants of both vehicles, police said.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
