Recently, the business mogul’s legal team helped unearth facts about Tony Buzbee, the attorney suing Jay-Z, that might further call into question Buzbee’s credibility.</p>

<p id=”par-2_56″>Jay-Z and his attorneys have been adamant that Jane’s Doe’s lawsuit holds the same lack of integrity and honesty they feel her lawyer does. After the lawsuit was first filed in December, 2024, Jay-Z asserted that Buzbee contacted the rapper’s team before. Still, he declared that he was more than <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jay-z-more-than-prepared-deal-sexual-assault-allegations-expose-fraud.html/”>prepared to deal with the accusations</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-3_78″>“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” Jay-Z said in a statement according to <a href=”https://variety.com/2024/music/news/jay-z-named-with-sean-diddy-combs-sexual-assault-lawsuit-1236242857/”>Variety</a>. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”</p>

<p id=”par-4_40″>Jay-Z has kept true to his word, and has been trying to paint Buzbee as a crooked, opportunistic lawyer only interested in financial gain. By virtue, proving Buzbee’s alleged duplicity might eventually render Jane Doe’s lawsuit null and void. </p>
<p id=”par-5_84″>One of the recent discoveries Jay-Z made to hurt Buzbee’s reputation was Buzbee’s initial meeting with Jane Doe. <a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/01/29/jay-z-reacts-tony-buzbee-didnt-meet-client-before-case/”>TMZ</a> reported that Buzbee didn’t meet his client at all before filing his complaint. Hov’s defense team argued this is just another reason why Jane Doe’s lawsuit shouldn’t make it to court, and why Buzbee should be sanctioned. But so far, Buzbee isn’t rattled. He claimed that he did interview the Jane Doe personally. Additionally, he handwaved away Jay-Z’s discovery as a weak attempt at defense.</p>

<p id=”par-6_75″>What might also raise a few eyebrows regarding Jane Doe’s lawsuit are the inconsistences in her story. Jane Doe alleged that she was raped by both Jay-Z and Diddy when she was 13-years-old. In an interview with <a href=”https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jay-z-rape-accuser-comes-forward-nbc-news-acknowledges-inconsistencies-rcna183435″>NBC News</a>, she recalled the harrowing incident with as much recollection as her memory would allow. She claimed a friend drove her to Radio City Music Hall in New York, where the VMAs were being hosted that year.</p>
<p id=”par-7_80″>While attending the event, Jane Doe spoke with a few of the celebrities’ limo drivers in hopes to gain access to the after-parties. One limo driver she spoke to was Diddy’s, who reportedly connected Jane Doe with the business mogul. After she was drugged, she claimed Diddy, Jay-Z, and another woman would sexually assault her. After leaving the scene of the crime, Jane Doe asserted that her father picked her up after the incident. But Jane Doe’s father claimed otherwise.</p>
<p id=”par-8_31″>“I feel like I would remember that, and I don’t,” the father said. “I have a lot going on, but I mean, that’s something that would definitely stick in my mind.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_23″>Additionally, there were certain celebrities Jane doe claimed she met at the party who weren’t even there. Still, Jane Doe maintained her honesty.</p>
<p id=”par-10_46″>“Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear,” she said. “So I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_67″>Only time will tell if Jane Doe’s case will make it to court. Her lawyers continue to fight vigorously against the lawsuit, highlighting any holes they can find in the accuser’s testimony. One of the ways Jay-Z has attempted to clear his name is by attempting to have the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jay-z-pushing-accusers-name-public-amid-lawsuit.html/”>accuser’s true identity revealed</a>. But a judge ruled that the accuser was allowed to remain anonymous for now.</p>
