SUNNYVALE — One person was killed and three others were injured in a fiery crash Wednesday in Sunnyvale, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel arrived to find one of the vehicles on its roof, engulfed in flames and the driver trapped inside. “Untenable fire conditions” prevented personnel from rescuing the driver, according to authorities. The driver was later pronounced dead.

The occupants of the other three vehicles suffered minor injuries. They remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Authorities said speed appeared to play a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
