<p id=”par-1_68″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/beyonce/”>Beyoncé</a> worked alongside Jamie Foxx for the first time in the movie <em>Dreamgirls</em>, a project <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jamie-foxx-turned-dreamgirls-found-eddie-murphy-starring-film.html/”>he initially turned down</a>. Although he was admittedly terrible to Beyoncé in the film, that was only for the sake of their performances. The pair confided that they had a good time collaborating on the movie. But Foxx quipped he felt a little apprehensive about kissing Beyoncé due to her connection with Jay-Z.</p>

<p id=”par-2_99″>Foxx not only worked alongside Beyoncé in the film <em>Dreamgirls</em>, but simulated making love to the singer. The Oscar-nominated project saw Foxx play a ruthless music executive who manipulates both the careers and personal lives of his artists, which included Beyoncé’s character. Foxx was already accustomed to on-screen love-making when he and the “Crazy In Love” singer locked lips. But this was new territory for his co-star, who’d never done a love scene like the one she did with Foxx. Even after extensively preparing for the moment, Beyoncé couldn’t help but be a little nervous when the time came.</p>
<p id=”par-3_74″>“We kissed. Now, I’m a singer/songwriter, that’s what I did first – I didn’t start out going to acting classes and people-kissing classes. So that’s all still new to me,” she once told <a href=”https://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/a35302/beyonce-nervous-about-kissing-jamie/”>Digital Spy</a>. “Working with my acting coach made it easier. I just thought it was necessary for the character, we have to established that they’re married. Jamie was very professional, it was quick, and you know, it is what it is.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_37″>Despite being the more seasoned actor between the two, Foxx also <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/why-jamie-foxx-didnt-enjoy-kissing-beyonce-in-dreamgirls.html/”>had qualms about kissing Beyoncé</a> . He quipped that he couldn’t stop thinking about Jay-Z during the take, afraid the Brooklyn emcee would come after him.</p>

<p id=”par-6_30″>Apart from her kissing skills, Foxx was also impressed by Beyoncé’s performance. When reflecting on their work together in an interview with <a href=”https://chud.com/8278/interview-jamie-foxx-dreamgirls/”>Chud</a>, Foxx described her acting in one word.</p>
<p id=”par-7_93″>“Incredible,” he said. “I think Beyoncé was incredible in the sense that she took it serious. She took it serious in the sense that she knew this was her opportunity to do something special as far as her acting muscles were considered. When you think about it, you know she can sing. You know the music is going to blow you away. What she had to do was connect that drama, and I think her turns that she did in the acting fuels the music. So when she’s singing you really feel it.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_71″>Foxx also touched on how his own real-life experiences as a singer influenced his interactions with her during the movie. Foxx confided that he could be a <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jamie-foxx-terrible-beyonce-dreamgirls.html/”>bit nasty to Beyoncé </a>on set to get them both in the headspace of their characters. At one point during the interview, it was mentioned that Foxx’s character tells Beyoncé that she couldn’t sing. That reminded Foxx of his own experiences as an artist.</p>
<p id=”par-9_92″>“Like I did my record and the record executives will tell you something crazy just out they ass so they get you messed up and not thinking about the project. Some dude said to me, ‘I don’t give a damn if you sell one record or a million records – my check is still the same.’ I said, damn, how hard is your record company? Is this a gang? And this was right after the Oscars, so I was like, ‘Do they know who I – well, maybe I ain’t,’” Foxx said.</p>
<p id=”par-10_24″>Meanwhile, Beyoncé was thrilled with the opportunity to work with Foxx. Her co-star’s natural humor came in handy whenever Beyonce was feeling particularly nervous.</p>

I’d met him before but not as an actor and I knew I had to do scenes with him and I know he has an Oscar and he’s incredible so I was nervous.
