Man struck, killed by RTD train in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Regional Transportation District train in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood on Monday, police officials said.

Denver police received a call about the crash near Smith Road and Quebec Street at 3:28 p.m. and investigators are still determining what happened, according to the agency. The unidentified person who died was an adult man.

The northbound ramp from Quebec Street to Smith Road is closed for the crash investigation.

There were 54 passengers on the A Line train at the time and none reported injuries, RTD spokesperson Marta Sipeki said.

Shuttle buses are replacing light rail service between the 38th/Blake and 40th/Airport-Gateway Park stations until further notice, according to the agency.
