Meet Kobe, a spirited and fun-loving senior who adores playtime with his human friends. He is a sweet and cuddly dude that is just as happy relaxing on the couch as he is strolling (and sniffing) on walks. Kobe’s wiggly ways endear him to everyone he meets, but since this possible companion has some nerves about certain dogs it would be wise to meet any potential roommates to make sure it’s the right fit. Kobe lights up any room, and because he’s been with us for several months his adoption fees are waived! Meet him at our Dublin adoption center. The East Bay SPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions.

Are you ready for the queen of little black cats? Licorice has that imperious air of a monarch. As with the candy she’s named for, not everyone’s going to like Licorice. She’s a spicy girl, especially at first. But she’s also very interested in people and friendly after a few minutes of getting to know you. You’ll know you’ve made the grade when she rolls over to show her tummy. You can meet Licorice from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday at the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter’s adoption center located on 2228 South Shore. You can also call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.

I’m Nugget! A playful, energetic 5-month-old kitten with irresistible charm. I love playing with toys and snuggling up for cuddles afterward. Independent yet affectionate, I’m the perfect blend of entertainment and love. My very mild cerebellar hypoplasia makes me a little wobbly, but it never slows me down — I’m just like every other kitten. Adopt me and let’s create a lifetime of joy together! Contact Angela at 510-909-6737 or takeakittenhome@gmail.com to adopt Nugget! Community Concern for Cats now holds weekend adoption events at Pet Food Express stores in Walnut Creek and Martinez along with our regular location at 1250-H Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek. Visit communityconcernforcats.org for more information.
