Man wounded in Greater Grand Crossing shootout is arrested

A man was arrested after being wounded in a shootout in Greater Grand Crossing on Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The man, 29, was in a “verbal altercation” with three men in an apartment complex in the 6500 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at 8:28 p.m. when gunfire was exchanged between the men, police said. The 29-year-old was shot twice in the leg and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center; he was later arrested.

A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
