Searchable map: Houses destroyed in Los Angeles’ Palisades fire

A map showing the status of buildings in the Palisades wildfire zone is now available on Los Angeles County’s website.

The interactive map at the damage inspections dashboard categorizes the condition of the homes and other structures that have been inspected. A search field allows the user to put in a specific address.

“Field damage inspections may be ongoing and subject to change as information is gathered and verified,” the site says. “The icons on the map indicate the current known status of the structure.”

A red icon indicates a structure is destroyed, or more than 50% damage. Orange, yellow and green indicate lesser amounts of damage, black no damage, and gray inaccessible.

As of Sunday, Jan. 12, more than 900 buildings were on the map. It is displayed below, and can also be found at recovery.lacounty.gov/palisades-fire. Once it loads, the user can enter by clicking “OK” on the landing screen.
