Two killed, one wounded in North Oakland shooting

OAKLAND — Two men were killed and a third man was wounded in a North Oakland shooting Friday night, authorities said.

The names of the men killed — a 19-year-old Richmond resident and 20-year-old Berkeley resident — have not been released pending notification of their families. A 29-year-old San Pablo man who was wounded remained hospitalized Saturday. His condition was not available.

Authorities said the three men knew each other and were attending a party Friday night in the area of 55th Street and Telegraph Avenue. They and other people were outside when at least one person began shooting at them just after 10 p.m., police said.

The 19 and 20-year-old men were pronounced deceased at the scene. The other man was taken to a hospital.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released by police.

The two killings bring to five the number of homicides investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated six homicides in the city.

Anyone with information about the shooting may call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950. Anyone with video or pictures related to the shooting may email them to cidvideos@oaklandca.gov.
