Five Broncos selected to 2024 AP NFL All-Pro team

The Broncos returned to the postseason and several players are reaping recognition in the process.

Denver landed three players on the Associated Press’ first-team All-Pro list Friday and had a pair of second-teamers, too.

Cornerback Pat Surtain II, right guard Quinn Meinerz and punt returner Marvin Mims Jr. all landed on the AP’s first team, while outside linebacker Nik Bonitto and defensive lineman Zach Allen are second-teamers.

Surtain, of course, is one of the front-runners for the NFL’s defensive player of the year award. He and Mims are AFC Pro Bowl starters along with Bonitto.

Meinerz and Allen, meanwhile, got All-Pro recognition despite being left out of the Pro Bowl. Allen being named a fourth alternate for the Pro Bowl was particularly conspicuous considering he finished with a career-best 8.5 sacks and led all NFL defensive tackles in pressures.

Denver landed three first-team All-Pros for the first time since 2016. Their five total honorees is second-most in franchise history and the most since they had six in 1996.

For many players, getting All-Pro means more than recognition. Meinerz, for example, triggered $1.5 million in incentives by being named a first-team All-Pro, a source told The Denver Post. The honor this year means a $500,000 salary boost for the 2026-28 seasons. He can add the same if he’s a first-teamer again next year and has up to $8 million in All-Pro incentives in the four-year extension he signed in the summer.
