Daily News high school sports: Updates on canceled, postponed games due to fires, severe weather

The area fires and severe weather conditions have caused many schools in the Daily News area to cancel or postpone contests that were on this week’s schedule. Many schools are also canceling or limiting practices, especially for outdoor sports due unhealthy air quality.

Here is a list of schools and school districts that have announced changes this week:

Conejo Valley Unified School District

Includes Newbury Park High School, Thousand Oaks High School, Westlake High School.

All Tuesday sporting events were canceled, Wednesday night sporting events are still on as of Wednesday morning. Canceled games will be rescheduled for the end of the month at dates to be announced.

Agoura High School 

Tuesday night soccer and basketball games were canceled.

Chaminade

All Wednesday classes canceled. Boys soccer vs. Alemany and girls soccer vs. Marymount are canceled due to no classes and expected unhealthy air. Boys basketball vs. Harvard-Westlake is canceled and varsity only will play tomorrow at 5:30 at Harvard-Westlake.

Harvard-Westlake

Wednesday classes and all athletic activity canceled. Games will be rescheduled.

LAUSD

All Wednesday sporting events and practices are canceled. Charter schools within the CIF L.A. City Section are encouraged to cancel.

LVUSD

Includes Agoura High School and Calabasas High School.

All Wednesday classes and sporting events canceled.

St. Francis High School

No school or sporting events on Wednesday due to Eaton Fire.

Sylmar

Wednesday’s boys basketball game is moved to Thursday at Chatsworth. Wednesday’s girls basketball game will be played on Jan. 13 at Chatsworth.

Oaks Christian High School

All Wednesday classes and sporting events canceled.

Viewpoint High School 

Tuesday’s boys basketball game against Crossroads was canceled.
