2nd man dies after December West Pullman shooting

A second man has died after a December shooting attack in West Pullman on the Far South Side

Steven Shelton Bernard, 21, and Brandon Greenwood, 23, were in the 11600 block of South Peoria Street around 10:35 a.m. Dec. 4 when they were shot, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

That same morning, Bernard went to Roseland Hospital, where he has been since his death at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, a month after the shooting, according to the medical examiner’s office.

A Sunday autopsy determined Bernard died of complications of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, the office said.

Greenwood, 23, who was in the driver’s seat of a silver Cadillac sedan and suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body, died shortly after the attack, officials said.

No one was in custody.
