Here are 10 things you can do on Christmas Day out of the house

The presents are open and you have the day off, so now what do you do on Christmas Day?

While a lot of places are closed on Dec. 25 there are still plenty of things you can do outside the house, and to help you with your holiday plans here are 10 ways to spend Christmas Day around town.

Balloon Museum

Where: Ace Mission Studios, 516 S. Mission Road, Los Angeles

Balloons make everything feel more festive so immerse yourself in this sprawling interactive exhibition. The pop-up museum is made up of 20 inflatable art installations by international artists who created pieces that include mazes, landscapes, giant animals, LED lit works and animated figures for the show.

Buffet and Brunch

Where:  Acapulco Restaurant y Cantina, Chevys Fresh Mex, and El Torito Grill in various locations.

Get some Mexican grub on Christmas day at an Acapulco, Chevys or El Torito restaurants near you. El Torito Mexican Grill and Acapulco Restaurant y Cantina will offer an all you can eat buffet on Dec. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. El Torito’s Holiday Buffet will include a tri-tip and ham carving stations while  Acapulco locations will be offering turkey and ham carving stations, as well as unlimited mimosas and omelettes. Chevy’s restaurants meanwhile will offer brunch 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Catch a flick

Where: Various theaters

Forget Netflix and get out of the house  on since most theaters will be open De. 25. Films making their debut that day include the Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown,” Nicole Kidman’s erotic drama “Babygirl,” and to put you in a macabre holiday spirit, “Nosferatu” is opening too.

Dave & Buster’s

Where: Hollywood, Irvine, Long Beach, Northridge, Ontario, Orange, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Westchester

Party like a kid, and bring the kids too to one of Dave & Buster’s nine SoCal locations on Christmas day. While the kids play games the adults can chill at the bar, have a few naughty drinks and food too. Most locations are open on Dec. 25 from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Disneyland

When it comes to the holiday spirit, there are few places that can beat Disneyland. The park goes all out during the season and those who attend on Dec. 25 can expect a parade, fireworks and epic selfies in front of the park’s massive Christmas Tree.

Festival of Lights

Take a self guided tour of some amazing Christmas lights at The Mission Inn. The venue’s holiday display is made up of more than 10 million dazzling lights wrapped around giant nutcrackers, palm trees and buildings.

Frosty’s Christmas Bar

Where: 6555 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles

Head over to Frosty’s Christmas Bar for an over-the-top and immersive experience. Visitors will be surrounded by thousands of twinkling lights, snow, huge ornaments and holiday-themed drinks. The bar is only for those 21 and older.

Ice skating

Where: Various ice rinks

Get into the holiday spirit by slipping on some skate shoes and sliding over to the various ice rinks that will be open on Christmas Day. The open rinks include Ice at Santa Monica at  1324 Fifth St., Santa Monica, LA Kings Holiday Ice at 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles and Temecula On Ice at 41902 Main St., Temecula.

Pacific Park

Where: 380 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica

Located on the more than 100-year-old Santa Monica pier, this place is a throwback  old-school carnival and amusement park with about a dozen rides, carnival games, food and plenty of performers roaming around.

You will feel like you’re in the middle of a winter wonderland at this annual Orange County attraction. The activities include ice skating, slides, a carnival, igloos with fire pits, snow and even a Ferris wheel.
