Seven years after it wrapped up its 11-season run on A&E, the family behind the popular <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/reality-tv/”>reality series</a> is eying a revival, star Willie Robertson says. </p>

<p id=”par-2_29″>Robertson was recently a guest on Tucker Carlson’s <a href=”https://youtu.be/CuYjOTGMox4?feature=shared” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>YouTube</a> show. He told the former Fox News host that his family was “getting back into production” on their reality show.</p>
<p id=”par-3_28″>“It’s kind of like the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/duck-dynasty-star-sadie-robertson-huff-reveals-she-got-covid-19-while-pregnant.html/”>next generation of <em>Duck Dynasty</em></a>,” he said. “My kids are older. Since 2017 [to] 2024, a lot’s happened. The cast has grown up.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_20″>Robertson, who is the CEO of Duck Commander, said A&E had expressed interest in an updated version of the show.</p>
<p id=”par-5_39″>“They said, ‘Hey, are you guys interested in kinda redoing the show?’ And it felt like the time was right… met with the family, prayed about it, and said, ‘Yeah, I think so.’ The kids were excited,” he shared.</p>

<p id=”par-6_19″>More than a decade after <em>Duck Dynasty </em>premiered, Robertson said he is still touched by the show’s surprising legacy. </p>
<p id=”par-7_52″>“Man, when you talk to people, and they tell you how much that meant to them… I can’t tell you how many people who are like, ‘It’s what my dad and I watched together’ or ‘My mom passed away and it was the only thing we could laugh at together,’” he said. </p>
<p id=”par-8_36″>As for why a show about a Louisiana family that ran a duck call business resonated so strongly with viewers, Robertson had a theory. He said it was due to <em>Duck Dynasty</em>‘s embrace of traditional values. </p>
<p id=”par-9_33″>“Just watching our family be positive,” he said. “And the roles were correct. It wasn’t a lot of you know, just darkness and stuff that people watch. It wasn’t just a train wreck.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_29″>“It’s really inspiring. It’s good to make something, especially when it came out it was a bright light amongst some dark stuff out there, some dark TV,” he added. </p>
<p id=”par-11_93″>While Robertson attributed the <em>Duck Dynasty</em>’s success to its uplifting message, one of its stars had a tendency to stir up controversy. In 2013, Robertson’s father <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/this-theory-about-why-duck-dynasty-got-canceled-makes-so-much-sense.html/”>Phil Robertson called homosexuality sinful</a>, comparing it to bestiality, in an interview with <a href=”https://www.gq.com/story/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>GQ</a>. He also said that Black people were “happy” in the pre-Civil Rights era and that he “never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any Black person.” The elder Robertson was also criticized when a video (via <a href=”https://www.cbsnews.com/news/is-ae-walking-a-fine-line-over-duck-dynastys-phil-robertson/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>CBS News</a>) surfaced of him urging men to marry girls “when they’re about 15 or 16.” </p>
