Boy, 17, killed in East Garfield Park shooting

A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed early Friday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Around 2:20 a.m., the teen was outside in the 2800 block of West Polk Street when a black vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

The teen was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police said.

Area 4 detectives are investigating and no arrests have been made.
