Pedestrian dead after being hit by vehicle on I-680 in San Ramon

SAN RAMON — A person died on an East Bay freeway early Wednesday after apparently running onto the roadway and being hit by a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.

Fremont: Person killed after crashing stolen motorcycle

The collision happened about 4:40 a.m. on southbound Interstate 680 just south of the Crow Canyon Road exit, according to the agency. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities did not identify the person early Wednesday, pending notification of relatives.

The CHP closed down the two far right lanes following the crash but had them both open again at 6:35 a.m.
